Sofia. “Institutions in Bulgaria are working. The interim gove ment took all needed measures. The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) came out with clear positions. I am convinced that the State Agency for National Security (SANS), the Interior Ministry and the Prosecutor’s Office will bring matters to the end in terms of the conce s and the investigations on elections violations,” Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev said after voting in today’s early parliamentary elections in Bulgaria, FOCUS News Agency reporter informed.
When asked whether the “scenarios” he was talking about included the 350,000 illegal ballot papers found yesterday, Plevneliev said, as follows: “Let me be clear: Bulgarian citizens should be calm and know that we have achieved much over the past 20 years and that these are not the first elections the country organises. There are no such big dramas, which will make us question what we have achieved in the past 23 years. We should not look to the past, we should look to the future. People should cast their vote and give a chance for the development of the nation, not for tu ing back to the past. No matter whom people will vote for, they should make an informed choice. I call the SANS and the Interior Ministry to bring these matters to the end. I call the CEC to guarantee, and I am sure it will, the fai ess of the elections. I call all political parties and the media to stick to the rules of democracy and to the way we make a democratic and constitutional choice,” Plevneliev said further. 12.05.2013 |
